Enter and View - IW NHS Trust Complaints Revisits Report 2017
The Healthwatch Isle of Wight Enter and View panel undertook revisits to the hospital wards they previously visited in 2015. The IW NHS Trust had spent alot of time working on their complaints processes following the original visits.
Summary
These visits were executed in the same manner as the previous ones to allow for a comparison to be made and improvements to be easily identifiable.
One key difference with the revisits is that they were partially announced, whereas the original visits were unannounced. This is because the IW NHS Trust requested Healthwatch Isle of Wight revisit the areas that were visited before so they could see what effect their training and renewed complaints literature has had.
Key Findings
Improvements to literature and visibility of the complaints were evident, however staff knowledge had remained patchy as was the case in the previous visit.
